Encryption Policies
From Securence
Encryption Policies are used to specify if emails are required to be encrypted along with additional message security requirements.
- Add New Rule
- Rule Name: A descriptive name for the rule being created.
- Rule Type: Create an Incoming rule for others sending to you or an Outgoing rule for you sending out to others.
- Incoming
- Original Server to Securence: The remote party not hosted by Securence delivering to Securence.
- Domain, Email Address, or All domains may be selected to specify what remote entity the rule applies to.
- Transport Type: Specifies to require or not Require TLS. Recommendation is to require TLS delivery to Securence for end to end security.
- Securence to your server: How Securence will delivery mail to your server.
- Email Address, Domain, Group, All: Specify who to include for delivery in this rule.
- Transport Type: Require TLS, Do not Require TLS, Opportunistic TLS, or CypherMail for delivery to your mail server.
- Require TLS: Requires TLS delivery to your server when rule is matched.
- Do Not Require TLS: Specifies to not use TLS to deliver the message securely to your mail server. This setting is not recommended for end to end security.
- Opportunistic TLS: Specifies to use TLS for delivery if your mail server is configured to accept delivery with it otherwise use normal non-encrypted delivery. This setting is not recommended for end to end security.
- CypherMail: Deliver messages using CypherMail and not to your mail server.
- Original Server to Securence: The remote party not hosted by Securence delivering to Securence.
- Outgoing
- Your Server to Securence: Specify if messages from your server are required to be sent with TLS to Securence
- Require TLS: Require your server to deliver outbound to Securence using TLS
- Do Not Require TLS: Specifies to not require TLS delivery from your mail server. Not recommended for end to end security.
- Securence to Destination: Specify constraints for requiring encryption.
- Require TLS: Require Securence to deliver to the destination mail server with TLS.
- Do Not Require TLS: Do not require secure delivery. Not recommended for end to end security.
- Opportunistic TLS: Send with TLS outbound when available otherwise send with insecure delivery methods. Not recommended for end to end security.
- CypherMail: Deliver messages using CypherMail to the destination.
- Your Server to Securence: Specify if messages from your server are required to be sent with TLS to Securence
- Incoming
- Active Rules - Click for More Info and Editing Options
- click the up/down buttons to move a rule up and down in the list. Rules on the top of the list are executed prior to rules lower in the list.
- Click the right arrow to expand the rule and allow editing of the rule.
- Precedence: determine if the rule should be created at the beginning or the end of the previous rules.
- Lock Rule From: Allows locking of rules so that lesser Administrators are unable to move their rules before higher administrators.
- Notes: Any additional information about the rule may be placed there.
