Spam Settings
From Securence
- Domain: The name of the domain the changes made here will be applied to.
- Group: The name of the group that the domain belongs to.
- Spam Action: Any combination of options may be set. Selecting "Do not deliver to recipient" and Forward will cause the message to be redirected.
- Do not deliver to recipient: To prevent the message from getting to the user "Do not deliver to recipient" should be selected.
- Modify Subject: Use this option if you would like to add to the beginning or the end of the Subject Line of all Emails defined as Spam.
- Forward To Domain Spam Box: Use this option if you would like all Emails for the Domain that are defined as Spam to be forwarded to a mail box.
- Forward To Group Spam Box: Use this option if you would like all Emails for the Group that are defined as Spam to be forwarded to a mail box.
- Forward To Company Spam Box: Use this option if you would like all Emails for the Company that are defined as Spam to be forwarded to a mail box.
- The Forward to Spam box options will be disabled unless use user verification is checked. The reason for these options being disabled is to reduce bandwidth and disk usage by not forwarding spam for users who do not exist.
- Quarantine Spam: Use this option if you would like all Emails for the Domain quarantined.
- Spam Filters: Selecting all the filters is a good choice. Any combination of spam filters may be selected.
- Real Time Blacklists: Real Time Blacklists or RBLs check the IP address of the sending SMTP client.
- Missing Message Components: This is an advanced feature which allows filtering of messages based on missing or empty components. The absence of a To, CC, or From header does not necessarily indicate the message is spam. These headers are not required and blocking messages because they do not exist could increase false positives. Likewise, the Mail From is a standard component of the SMTP protocol, but it is allowed to be empty. This is apparent in the case of bounce messages. Please use caution when working with these options. They should only be enabled by experienced users who fully understand the consequences.
- Deny messages that do not contain either a To or CC header
- Deny messages with To header containing "Undisclosed Recipients"
- Deny messages that do not contain a From header
- Deny messages with an empty Mail From
- Filter By Country:With this feature, you have complete control over which countries you wish to receive mail from. After checking the Use Country Filter checkbox you will be given two options. Each option has a corresponding country exception list. After selecting which type of filtering to use, you will want to select the countries to which filtering should be applied. The first option is the default option. With this enabled, only the countries in the exception list will be blocked. Mail from all other countries will be handled as usual. The second option behaves exactly opposite. All mail from all countries will be blocked by default and only mail from countries in the exception list will be processed normally. Occasionally, Securence⢠will be unable to determine the country of origin for the message. In these cases, filtering by country will not be performed and the message will be processed normally. Messages caught by this filter will be treated as spam and all of the spam actions that have been designated in the Domain Settings will be performed. For example, if the Quarantine has been enabled, messages that fail this country filter will be quarantined.
