Importing a user list is a quick and easy way to set up a large number of users. You can specify every field in the manage user list page as a column in a comma or tab delimited file. Using a spreadsheet in Microsoft™ Excel and exporting as a CSV file is the easiest way to generate a user list in the correct format. If you have created user profiles you can apply them to users you import. However, all fields that are actually specified in the list have precedence over those specified in the profile. Also note that for a column to be considered an e-mail column, every single entry needs to be a valid e-mail address.

The checkbox fields in manage users (e.g. Allow Login) must be imported in an appropriate boolean format. Every element of the column (excluding the first row) must be in one of the following groups:

On: yes y + true t 1 on Off: no n - false f 0 off You can also export the current user list into a CSV file. This exported file acts as a snapshot. If you were to import this file (authoritatively) your user list would return to the exact state it was in at the time of export.

Restoring a user list can be done up to 3 days after a user list import. This will return the list to the state it was in immediately before the last user import.

You can download an example user list to see a correctly formatted file.
